Take a long look at our pinups, show girls, movie starlets and models from the era of the Second World War and Hollywood's heyday. 1940-1945 was known as the Leg Art period, and you'll see the reasons why: naughty lingerie with bras, girdles, garter belts, stockings, and heels to kill for. Post-war the beach attracted a new pinup girl who put away her maillot and her wartime deux-pièces and tested the new belly button baring bikini. On the burlesque circuit dancers competed for the sexiest stage costume, but kept their nipples covered with pasties--most of the time. Peek-a-boo laws might limit how much a legit girl can show, but the PictIcon also has plenty of shoebox photo prints that has come from private collectors and underground labs.
